Sound Therapy SYNERGY includes added value in the form of additional music that is only available through our SYNERGY Consultants.
By stimulating the auditory pathways and the brain, Sound Therapy improves hearing and auditory processing, reduces tinnitus, stress, fatigue and insomnia. Listeners report better hearing in a noisy room, better concentration, focus and memory, better learning and academic performance, better balance and co-ordination, relief of dizziness and vertigo and a general feeling that the brain is sharper and communication is easier.
How Sound Therapy SYNERGY works
Sound Therapy is a unique listening system using new knowledge about the brain.
The Sound Therapy SYNERGY program is designed to work synergistically with other treatments, meaning that both methods enhance each other. Your qualified Sound Therapy SYNERGY Consultant may offer you additional treatments that will combine with your Sound Therapy to make it more effective. Your Consultant will also help you work out a tailored program, specifically suited to your needs.
Based on the discoveries of the ear specialist, Dr Tomatis, the Sound Therapy method developed by Patricia and Rafaele Joudry is now available as a portable self help program that can be used by anyone, anywhere.
Specially recorded programs of highly filtered classical music are used to rehabilitate the ear and stimulate the brain. Sound Therapy stimulates the ear by presenting it with constantly alternating sounds of high and low tone, within the complex structure of classical music. Stimulation via the sensory pathways re-maps the brain, improving the way we understand and process sound. The brain, in turn, sends signals back to the ear to improve its function. Our understanding from research sources suggests that this feedback loop results in better performance of the middle ear muscles and of the tiny, hair-like receptor cells in the inner ear.
As the ear becomes open and receptive to high frequency sounds these are then passed on to the brain. Research has shown that brain function is improved through high frequency sound. There is an increase in blood flow to certain centres along with increased electrical activity. The results observed in Sound Therapy listeners include increased energy, reduced fatigue with improved focus and creativity, a reduction in the need for sleep, and an almost permanent state of peace and relaxation.
The home listening program is done using the SONTEGRITY personal music player with earphones and based Listeners’ Workbook. Follow up interviews with your SYNERGY Consultant will help you stay on track. It is easy to do and takes no time out of your day. In fact many people say it gives them an extra two or three hours a day, due to the reduced need for sleep!
How you use Sound Therapy SYNERGY
Sound Therapy is easy to use
You will listen to your Sound Therapy on a small portable player, at low volume, as you go about your daily activities. It is very simple to use and takes no time out of your day. Your Sound Therapy SYNERGY Consultant will assess your needs and make sure you understand how to use the program. Your program includes books, workbooks, videos and email support as well as regular follow up interviews with your Consultant.
Equipment
Sound Therapy is listened to on a specifically engineered new personal digital music player called the Sound Therapy SONTEGRITY. Portable and convenient, this player is smaller than a matchbox and can be worn around your neck. Sound Therapy must be listened to through quality headphones (or earphones) not through speakers. A portable player is essential as it allows you to move around so you get in the required hours of listening without any interference with your daily activities.
Hours
Your Consultant will give you an assessment tool to determine your listening hours. On average, the required listening time for adults is three hours per day and for children 30 to 60 minutes. However Sound Therapy takes no time out of your day at all as you listen during your usual daily activities or sleep. The time for results to be achieved varies from a few days to a few months. On average the program takes between six weeks and three months to achieve full results.
Activities during listening
Sound Therapy is played at very low volume on portable equipment so it does not interfere with any other activities. While listening you can read, work, exercise, talk, listen to radio or TV, have a conversation, talk on the phone, use a computer or even sleep.
Full listening instructions are provided in the book: Sound Therapy: Music to Recharge Your Brain by Rafaele Joudry or in Rafaele’s second book, Triumph Over Tinnitus.
